The next person I spoke with was my sister, and since I had already chosen to talk about my Nonna’s pasta, she immediately brought up my focaccia bread.
I started making it a few years ago, and it quickly became a family favourite. We would have it on pasta nights, use it for sandwiches, or simply enjoy it dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
When I started making this it definitely flopped a few times! Making bread is very technical down to how warm your house is which I learned the hard way the first time I made this in the winter and not the summer!
Now, whenever I go home to visit or we are at our family cabin in the summer, I know that making the focaccia will be my job.
